Eliyahu Hanabi Synagogue

Fairly one sided report on the destruction over the weekend of 25 May 2014 of the Eliyahu Hanabi Synagogue in Jobar. ( Actually it doesn't seem completely destroyed - at least one wing is still intact )

"The Jobar Synagogue in Damascus lay in ruins Monday after being shelled by Syrian government forces. All photos provided exclusively to The Daily Beast by witnesses on the ground."

Battle video: more destruction

I Russian team has published UAV video from fighting in southern Jobar. Little progress in two years. My impression is that chaos and destruction is slowly creeping toward downtown Damascus.

The two T-72 tanks are firing in the direction of Ein Tarma from Jobar, from the street corner one block east of this restaurant. I do not know if the restaurant is operating. It did get its first Google review just a week ago: five ***** stars from someone named Fayez Al-bishi. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 12:14, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

That area wasn't in SAA hands before. Nor much in conflict - which was mostly north Jobar and teacher's tower area plus NE / east along Southern bypass. This is more like an extension of the teacher's tower front to the south and an SAA push east. --Charles Wood (talk) 12:23, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
