Syria Local Time

This is a subject I've been meaning to address once and for all, but wasn't sure where. A timeline discussion page, I suppose works. So we had one set of times ignoring DST, later corrected and bumped up an hour to reflect summer time. But maybe the first times were right, for the wrong reasons. And the underlying problem is: I thought I had good reason to decide Syria was in the UTC+3 time zone with Iraq, despite some mixed signs saying maybe it was in UTC+2 with Lebanon. On a recent double-check, I saw no mixed signals - it's UTC+2. I don't know how I got confused the first time. This issue applies to all Syria cases where I set the time based on a +3 presumption. Before I go "correcting" again, can I get some kind of ACLOS team-verified answer to what time zone this is? Apologies for dumbassness. --Caustic Logic (talk) 04:58, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

"Other" Column

I've been eager to start working in the videos, and in fact already did once, but it was among the things lost when the first site crashed. This time, I decided rather than ascribe the video to supporting one side or another, it should have its own clear column, including anything else besides witnesses that helps set the timeline(s). For now, I added the column only to the first section as a trial, where I don't know if there is any video or very much other. If it's a good idea, I'll continue and drop in the first three videos worth mentioning. Is it a good idea? --Caustic Logic (talk) 11:30, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Hmm, which videos can be attributed to exact times? I can't think of too many which would fit here - they are better off at the other pages dealing with aspects in detail, i'd say. But if you think you have enough to make it useful, go ahead and i'm looking forward to reading. If you add a column to a table, you must change the "colspan" value in the first row (here from 3 to 4) to make the headline go all the way. --CE (talk) 18:59, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Ah, colspan. I noticed that but didn't try too hard to find the problem. --Caustic Logic (talk) 21:20, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
As for videos, I expect a relatively scant column. Only two clearly dated videos, but there are the others where date isn't so clear. I think if there's a good chance it was May 25,it's relevant, and be given even a rough time, it should be included with a proper note (and brief - it's all in little boxes). Better to include a questionable clue and see how it fits than ignore it, right? --Caustic Logic (talk) 10:05, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

Starting Notes

I've started this page, but I'm notsure how best to organize it. The text is a bit much, but I like what I've been doing - putting the entries in a three-column table. Time, "Rebel version," (or "accepted," or whatever) and "non-rebel version." The two threads can be seen twisting around something that might ear the imprint of true events. It's got potential. CE, or Petri - how hard is it to set up a table that can be added to on here? Or is it best to make that up first and then publish it when done? --Caustic Logic 20:13, 26 August 2012 (EST)
