As I noted on the forum thread, this is likely not Thomson's "guide" as he writes that they didn't film him to protect his identity. He's also not the same guy as the redhead seen celebrating with the armoured vehicle ... that fellow is much thinner. --CE 00:32, 4 October 2012 (EST)

This guy says on video much of what Thomson attributes to his guide in the text. Differences though: Refuses to give his name v.s. Gave full name and ID, but we won't tell you.
The revenge part is indeed quite similar but I moved his pic a bit upwards on the witness page to don't make it appear as a validated match. --CE 03:29, 4 October 2012 (EST)
So far I have identified four or five redheads, that may be two to five different people. The redhead walking on the left side of Thomson at 2m 5s, just before this interview is a spiting image of the jihadi on the APC. It would be interesting if they turned out to be the same person! There is another redhead, possible the same in the earliest battle scenes on the Brigade YouTube channel. -- Petri Krohn 02:37, 4 October 2012 (EST)
While you're spotting, also look for the two Mohammeds I just uploaded, from the SPIEGEL interview. Baqur is the one who tells the tall tale that he defected in early June after the military ordered him to bribe people into telling the government story. He on a batallion video would be a major scoop. --CE 03:08, 4 October 2012 (EST)
You mean those two -> guys? It is weird, that the FSA people that speak to the UN are quite different from the local FSA / Brigade rebels. Where did they all suddenly come from? -- Petri Krohn 04:04, 4 October 2012 (EST)

As a redhead, I don't think that's a redhead. Slightly reddish brown (auburn is that?). The guy at the APC, yeah, arguably red-haired. Not the same. Glasses, sad mouth, a little soft/unhealthy - pretty distinctive to match. --Caustic Logic 09:14, 5 October 2012 (EST)

Face match?

Match?

Different leaner face, darker hair. I presume you mean guy on the right. --Caustic Logic 09:14, 5 October 2012 (EST)
No, in both cases I mean the guy on the left. (My left, not his.) -- Petri Krohn 10:00, 5 October 2012 (EST)
Ah... not him either. In the next --Caustic Logic 22:20, 5 October 2012 (EST)pic, mmmmaybe
Nothing close among them --Caustic Logic 09:14, 5 October 2012 (EST)
He is the one with the keffiyeh around his neck. -- Petri Krohn 10:03, 5 October 2012 (EST)
Potentially, a similarity, but I don't think it's a match.Bad videos can really distort people, and different lighting, etc. But these are both decent images, bright daylight, and the one gut looks like a pale sack of potatoes and the other like a sharpened fighter with only a touch of pudge and more stylish glasses. --Caustic Logic 22:20, 5 October 2012 (EST)
Not even sure that's a match between Red Erics, but could be. Not our interviewee. --Caustic Logic 09:14, 5 October 2012 (EST)

-- Petri Krohn 07:34, 5 October 2012 (EST)

I fact, something tells me he's not a fighter at all, just a sad little activist local who knows what he's supposed to say without looking like one of the possible killers. He might appear in non-fighting videos or, more likely, not appear as he holds the camera. --Caustic Logic 09:14, 5 October 2012 (EST)

That is, IN fact. But it's just my feeling on it,so it means not much. --Caustic Logic 22:20, 5 October 2012 (EST)
