Geolocation?

Adam asked my on chat if I know where this place is located. Here is my response for public consumption.

I have no idea. At first I though it must be Khan Sheikhoun, but I have noticed that many of the victims were trucked to far away hospitals. Does the HAQ News Agency logo indicate that it is Khan Sheikhoun? I tried to geolocate the trees in Khan Sheikhoun, but could not find the spot.

But here is a partial answer to your question:

We have two videos from the spot:

The man in white underwear is also taken to this same park / morgue.

He is seen on the second Assi Press video being offload from a van.

Here are some other screenshots from the same video. A crowded place. The camera only focuses on the people. (Actually it is trying to focus on the victims, but cannot see through the crowd.)

You might make a collage of screenshots to try to see the outlines of the buildings.

These is also another video of the same scene discovered only recently. It does not show much more, but putting the two together you might be able to map out the place.

Thanks, Petri! Sorry I've been slow. I had a possible spot match once, maybe no good. Can't find it now. ATM I suspect it is in town, as I look at the timeline. Will see if the visuals establish more. But might be doable just from the scene (buildings-pavement-trees (4+)-(dirt road?)-grass-street) and the orientation (suns is presumably from the southeast, so the street should run E-W or SE-NW). A truck crosses from a cross street in the upper right corner, for another clue.
Whatever the location, I tried a solar elevation reading from the guys and shadows in the upper left corner at the end of the Haq video. Not very exact, but it seems around 50 degrees, which would be 10:40 am in KS or anywhere near. Refinements welcome. More perhaps coming but no promises. --Caustic Logic (talk) 09:49, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
