In situ evidence

Petri says this is "one of very few that indicate that toxic chemicals were released into the atmosphere – as opposed to closed spaces." It does seem to say that, but perhaps not, really. There are also the sheep, and the small wild bird picked up at the Zamalka rocket site, at least. That last ties the rocket in, perhaps, or suggests coincidentally this was an area where the gas drifted, or the bird was planted from elsewhere. As for the sheep, they would have been penned in somewhere, could well be herded into their shed, then gassed up-close. Or perhaps they were just in an area the gas drifted, or less likely planted (they were clearly piled and an early attempt at burning them was made). As for the pigeons... often (city) wild, but also sometimes domesticated. There are a lot in this one spot (app. 33 at least). Were they caged, on one unlucky rooftop, or gathered from a wider area to pile here? All are possible. --Caustic Logic (talk) 10:37, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

These pigeons are the only ones that are filmed in situ. The other animals have been moved. Maybe they truly died from gas, but they are still planted. The dead chicken is a hoax; no one keeps their chicken in an open field without a fence or cage. The fact that these were only photographed on August 24th raises suspicion. We should try to locate Ammar Dar's whole protoset from some photo agency. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 17:11, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
