Back of an envelope estimation of diamond back wing length is 37 inches. I would say the part above and the one on the car roof look approx 3 foot (36 inches) in length. --Diagonal (talk) 20:00, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
Car roof would be approx 1.35m (53 inches) in width.
My estimate (from schematic below) of GBU 39 rear wing parts length would be approx 26 inches.
I think that's about right for the part seen here. --Diagonal (talk) 21:01, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
This thing filed here also appears at File:CraterClose.png and File:BBCCraterAnalysis.png; and especially on BBC crater analysis it looks (to me) as rubber or similar, maybe off a car (while looking at BBC photo, maybe off a roof). --Resup (talk) 16:04, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- Not a 100%, but I think they are two different pieces - or the piece flipped over, if I'm wrong. People will likely have moved pieces around. The piece in the BBC graphic, it looks to be like a part of the diamond back cover --Diagonal (talk) 08:51, 13 November 2023 (UTC) I should have noted my change of idea here before.
Also, position in the crater (sharp brick edge, no dust) filed here seems different from the one from BBC (dusty , no sharp crater edge). Maybe it was brought later and made to look like a wing (note that there seems to be a rubbery protrusion rolled on top), roughly mid-length of the fragment --Resup (talk) 16:48, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
For reference: debris ascribed as GBU-39
