This does reflect the left/"progressive" hasbara of the issue, but outside of "humor" in a serious content is misleading. It is not said that Iran has the bomb. In a nutshell, it is said that it has been developing fairly complex technologies required to produce one. The nuclear agreement with Iran is time limited. After this time expired, Iran will be able to use this know-how to actually produce one at a time of its choosing, and with sanctions lifted will be in a better position economically to withstand any economic pressures not to. This is by no means an easy or risk-free matter. The best hope is that renewed pressure may result in renegotiated agreement with no time limit having Iran fully abandoning nuclear weapons development. --Resup (talk) 10:54, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

Khamenei has issued a fatwa declaring nuclear weapons haram and has referred to it several times, for example in 2015 during the negotiations for the agreement:
Years ago, we issued a fatwa, based on Islamic teachings, forbidding the production of nuclear weapons, and we face religious obstacle for the production of these weapons, but Americans who have sometimes owned up to the significance of this fatwa, keep lying in their propaganda and ranting, and claim that their threat has blocked the production of nuclear weapon by Iran.
If there's one thing about truly religious people, they tend to avoid lying. The whole insinuation of the Iranian nuke program is straight from La-La-Land, like the crap about the Syrian chemical weapons program which has to count on the short attention spam of people that they can't remember its successful destruction with the help of both Russia and the US after the 2013 Ghouta incident. The Islamic Republic of Iran doesn't want nukes, and they don't need them. They can destroy all the nice glass palaces on the other side of their gulf with ease, which would crush the "Western" economy the first week of any attack. I have the feeling both Trump and Putin are giving Netanyahoo enough rope to hang himself ATM. --CE (talk) 11:13, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Fatwa on the weapons production is not a ban on technologies development; a fatwa this or fatwa that takes seconds, development takes many years and significant economic and human resources. If there is no aspiration to produces nuclear weapon, great, there should be no obstacle to have a time-unlimited version of the nuclear agreement. (But the aspiration is of course there and there are many pointers, centrifuges, enrichment, reactor, Omid Kokabee imprisonment and other cases against scientists) --Resup (talk) 11:51, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
