From A Closer Look On Syria

OK, I guess the case is made that the body is (or seems to be) her husband; and indeed, there is a question mark as according to her that happened a month ago. While it does not look that way. Temperatures are something like from +2 to -1. But, one month. And, animals, etc. The story that she could not collect a body for a month is questionable too. They lived somehow for a month, and had to get food, shelter, etc. If it was taken by Russians, there would be no sniping by Russians. Could be dangerous, especially if still in contested area, and boundaries, perhaps not well mapped. Still, altogether, before anything else, there is considerable doubt that what she says is true (and complete).

This said, yes, the overall idea of the Russians that those are brotherly people, civilians must be protected, treated humanely. While overall idea of Ukrainians, is that not really. But this is an ideal world, while actions are by concrete people, who are not perfect, sometimes, by a lot, and, on individual level, could be more alike than those opposite ideals. Say, in Tuva republic (Russia), murder rate is like 25 per 100 K per year (that is, 1 in 4K); and in war time, few days to a month is perhaps on par with a year in peacetime. And, apart from military, there are are also criminals, with uniforms, weapons, ribbons not hard to get by (Chechens, Russians are well -uniformed, do they really need a sweater and boots?). On Chechens: they seem professional, well-behaved, murder rate in Chechnya is low. But, they are hot-tempered guys, and getting them challenged (verbally/in attitudes) might not go too well. And if there is a battle nearby, hot pursuit, etc, might not be a good idea with anybody. There are Banderas, and if considered as such, who knows.

But, this above is all hypothetical, there are doubts that the story is true, to begin with. Ukrainian leaders need fighting age men to join the fight, not to get friends with Russians, so plenty of reasons to concoct or twist the story to fit propaganda needs. While people are weak, fallible, in the midst of all that --Resup (talk) 22:20, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
