The Battle of the Oligarchs

Battle begins

Follow-up

Ukrainian politician and former Dnepropetrovsk businessman Oleg Tsarev says that the political and economic conflict between the country's oligarchs may turn into outright street warfare and a new Maidan. Photo: Ukrtransnafta following this week's scuffle between Ukrainian authorities and Dnepropetrovsk oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky.
According to Tsarev, "the two sides are ready for such a scenario, which is why today there are special forces in the center of Kiev, and the territorial battalions Kiev-1 and Kiev-2 have been activated. We also know that Ministry of Interior forces are ready to head to Dnepropetrovsk. Igor Kolomoisky has brought his own Dnipro battalions to combat readiness. They now consist of up to fifteen thousand fighters, and a few days ago Kolomoisky ordered them to triple their number."
Two battalions of the Ukrainian National Guard (Ukrainian army) were sent on Monday to Dnepropetrovsk by President Petro Poroshenko’s decree, according to army’s official Twitter page.
National Guard forces were sent to Dnepropetrovsk to "maintain public security," the army said.
The experts I spoke to agreed that the militias represent a threat to the long-term stability of Ukraine, and ought to be dissolved and incorporated into the regular security forces. But it's not clear whether President Petro Poroshenko's government sees that as a priority — or whether the government is equipped to take them on at all.
Kolomoiskii is a universally loathed figure, there is a very good chance that MH17 can be fully dumped on him (thereby providing the Empire with a face saving “out”), he is probably very hard to control and he is threatening the junta. If I was sitting in Langley my recommendation would be clear: send him to Muzychko.
"Personal security groups, armed with firearms, that guard businessmen and politicians will not roam the streets of towns and cities," Avakov said adding that his order applied to everybody without exception, including Igor Kolomoisky, Viktor Pinchuk, Rinat Akhmetov, etc.
"I give all security firms 24 hours - to get rid of double or triple interpretations - to bring their activities impeccably in line with the letter and spirit of the law. References to war-time alarms will not justify these crimes and will even be considered as an aggravating circumstance," Avakov wrote on Facebook.
Earlier, Sergey Leshchenko, a deputy from the Poroshenko Bloc party, wrote on Facebook that members of the Dnepr-1 battalion had blocked the building of the Ukrnafta company.

FLASH—How Petya #Poroshenko met Benya #Kolomoiskiy in #Kiev and signed his resignation—in 3D Video and Stereo Sound.
FLASH—Acc. to @aavst, head editor of EchoMoscow, prior to Poro meeting, #Kolomoiskiy met w/US Amb. #Pyatt who told him he needs to resign.
In a statement released early on Wednesday, Mr Poroshenko's office named Valentyn Reznichenko as the new acting governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Kolomoysky yet lost the war. The command to remove a businessman from the "Ukrtransnafta" and "Ukranafty" came from the United States. Before Poroshenko signed a decree for the release of Igor Kolomoisky as governor of Dnipropetrovsk region, the businessman met with US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt. There he was hit - said Oleg Tsarev. - The US ambassador said Kolomoisky that do business in Ukraine can not be predatory practices, by which he meant that all decisions must now negotiate with the United States. After that Kolomoysky went to the president of Ukraine, where Poroshenko only had to take his surrender. Kolomoysky hoped to be able to negotiate with the United States, but it was not so.
According to Oleg Tsarev, now in Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa under the guise of security forces carried out a special operation Kiev detention of people who are connected with Igor Kolomoisky.
The conflict between the disgraced oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and the current Ukrainian government threatens to go into open military confrontation, in which Peter Poroshenko has no chance of winning - a view expressed in an interview with LifeNews by presidium member of the organization "Officers of Russia" and a veteran of the group "Alpha" Igor Shevchuk.
According to him, Kolomoysky will begin to expand the ranks of his army in the near future by inviting new volunteers. It will be joined by the first Ukrainian officers, frustrated with the military policy of the state.
- Once Kolomoysky activates the process of expanding its private army Poroshenko and associates do not have enough resources to keep the people around them and to prevent a wave of mass defections in the private army of Dnepropetrovsk, the owner of which Kolomoysky was and will remain, - said the expert.
Shevchuk said that fighters from the regular army in the Ukrainian administration Poroshenko received thousands of complaints about the lack of weapons and meager equipment, and requirements to fulfill obligations under the promised wages. Soldiers' Army Kolomoiskiy ", according to experts, do not know these problems.
Kolomoiskyi also grumbled that the politicians had chosen to demonize him in their political campaigns rather than use the war to promote their interests.
“I became the biggest trigger for society. And since I’ve been the biggest trigger for the whole population, and the politicians cannot promote themselves based on war, they decided to promote themselves based on me,” he stated.

More chaos in Kiev

On the island of Jersey are listed another company owned Stoetskomu and Bochkovsky. After that, the money allocated to their card accounts, "- said Avakov.
The minister also said that he has documentary evidence of corrupt practices and Bochkovsky Stoetskogo, and these actions took place on a scale that it "shocking."
In addition, Avakov distanced himself from possible claims that the arrest is Bochkovsky performance. According to the Interior Minister, he had already warned Yatsenyuk that the arrest takes place.
After explaining the reasons for the detention of Sergei Avakov suggested Bochkovsky dismiss from office the head of the State Service for Emergency Situations, and Prime supported this idea.
Ukrainian police detained two high-ranking officials from the state emergency services in front of TV cameras during a government meeting in Kiev on Wednesday, Reuters said. Battle over?

In the meantime, Ukraine provided 800 mln hryvna in financing to Privat bank controlled by Kolomoiskii, rusvesna, 28.03.15.

Also in the interview, K* was mildly suggesting that DPR and LPR exist in reality and shall be treated as such; they are not fully controlled by Putin; and in case of new elections under Ukrainian law, it is likely that current leadership will win.

Tsarev interview, 28.03 -highly critical of any prospect of dealing with K, regardless. --Resup (talk) 00:01, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

While the majority of the internet media presume that the US had already made its choice of oligarchs in Ukraine and has opted to support the head of state, Petro Poroshenko, the German online newspaper Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten believes that Washington might still change its mind and shift the balance of power in favor of Ihor Kolomoiskyi.
The paper supposes that the US hardliners, including Assistant Secretary of State for Europe Victoria Nuland and Republican Senator John McCain, who are known for their harsh anti-Russia rhetoric, might choose Kolomoiskyi as a partner in their fight against Moscow.
Meanwhile, other media sources are confident that Washington has already made up its mind.
"The current stand-off between Ukrainian big business tycoon Ihor Kolomoiskyi, the [former] governor of the Dnipropetrovsk Region (one of the most important regions of the country) and President Petro Poroshenko was stopped only after the US embassy directly interfered to support the head of state. Poroshenko would not dare launch an open attack against Kolomoiskyi or, all the more, fire him without Washington’s say so,” says the Strategic Culture Foundation, an online journal.
