Original Source?

(copied from an earlier, lower quality photo of the same wing segment that seems to appear less in mainstream news stories) I've been digging through Google image searches - at least 50 pages worth, different search terms. I find all kinds of images of each site, from original sources. These pivotal left wing images, only second-hand like this. That seems a bit odd. So far, I'm not even certain this really is from the same plane we're looking at. --Caustic Logic (talk) 09:45, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Same problem with:

This was the first low-res photo that showed up. I thought that it was the same photo as in Jeroen Akkermans' photo stream, but I never checked. Had a look now and nothing like this seems to the there. The one fascinating thing I notice, is that all the parts seem to be concentrated in this small area, yet they all fell off in midair. Is this the main spot where the landing gear and engines and wing fuel tanks crashed and burnt, or is it somewhere else? -- Petri Krohn (talk) 14:58, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
P.S. – one thing about Jeroen Akkermans' photos. I do not think we need to upload the original highest resolution versions, unless they show shrapnel detail. The second highest + link to original will save us backup work. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 15:02, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Location

Put in place: Here's one wing section in situ, from Jeroen Akkermans. Another - the wingtip. Closer up - this might be our segment. end view close up another and another and another yet. Useful stuff, likely the source for that photo. Next in the set show this is the part anyway. Another angle, and there's probably more. My question is answered. --Caustic Logic (talk) 13:10, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

MH-17 wingtip Loc.png

This photo from that set established the location right about here. This seems to be a different flight surface than the first one by the pond, but it must be only meters away. --Caustic Logic (talk) 13:49, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
