File talk:Ken Roth Barrel bombs.jpg

From A Closer Look On Syria
Jump to navigation Jump to search
Between 12 November 2013 and December 2014, Ken Roth tweeted about “barrel bombs” (BB) a total of 65 times. This is no small number, but it pales in comparison to the 135 barrel bomb tweets he posted in 2015 – thus far. During the first 8 months of 2015, the frequency of barrel bomb tweets varied from month to month. For example, after having posted 27 BB tweets in February of 2015, he surprisingly controlled his urges and kept it at under 15 for each of the following 4 months (March -June). In July his obsession got the best of him and he graced us with 28 BB tweets. Things got worse in August...

In this context, a double-gaffe from May: --Caustic Logic (talk) 08:48, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Awesome follow-up. He calls the comparison "telling," that Assad's destruction might be confused w/something that horrendous? Followed with the real deal - a photo of pretty severe destruction of less substantial buildings, "Aleppo's destruction after Assad's barrel bombs." But the researchers find it's from a Christian neighborhood of Aleppo (Hamidiyeh), "as local popular committee fighters" (aka Shabiha) "try to defend the traditionally Christian district on the third day of intense battles with Islamic State group jihadists." And also taking heavy hits from Assad's barrel bombs? OMG ISASSAD teamwork proved? Is that where he's going to dig to next? --Caustic Logic (talk) 10:00, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

I felt like collecting some more hot tips for Mr. Roth, in case anyone wants to send them in. A good way might be via his wife Dr. Annie Sparrow, especially the Sarmin one.

Roth Sarmin Victim.png
  • A victim of the March 16 chlorine attack by Assad forces. Where in UNSC action? (image: see right)
    • When the experts call this one, he could just say oh, well it's telling. Okay, here's some kids who died with the same exact symptoms in that chlorine attack, in Idlib, so haha dummy)
  • Assad loyalists with intel chief seen leaving hotel in Deraa, March 2011, after dozens protesters shot. UN must investigate (image File:Andriy Parubiy Praviy Sector.jpg)
  • Okay, sorry, this one's about Putin actually. Just had to share again. Where is #UNSC action? (File:Putin the Tyrant.jpg)

And that's more than I should have come up with. Any below will be by someone else. --Caustic Logic (talk) 10:13, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Update: turns out they took my first suggestion, probably without the prompt, and I didn't notice it until now. Axis of Logic caught it though. Not just KR personally but HRW tweeted "Syria Dropped Barrel Bombs Despite Ban" under a slightly different photo of the same view over Kobani following U.S. led airstrikes and months of fighting between various factions. They don't explicitly say the picture is relevant, but they chose to use it. --Caustic Logic (talk) 11:09, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
