Yaroslav The Wise, ruler of Kiev and Novgorod, 1019–1054. Introduced a law code (Russkaya Pravda - "Rus Truth"); installed a local monk to metropolitan of Kiev; promoted writing/literature/learning.

Died: February 20, 1054, Vyshhorod, Ukraine
Full name: Yaroslav I, Grand Prince of Rus'
Spouse: Ingegerd Olofsdotter of Sweden (m. 1019–1050)
Parents: Rogneda of Polotsk, Vladimir the Great

Remains: entombed in a white marble sarcophagus, St. Sophia Cathedral, Kiev. Subsequently stolen during German occupation, WWII, and either lost, or kept by Ukrainian Orthodox Church in USA. Skull features suggest Tatar/Asian lineage, unlike Greek type features portrait in icons.
