PCBs shown do not match normal hobby UAV flight computers and GPS - which are quite a bit smaller. They are possibly off a larger UAV?
AeroVironment Switchblade
This is a U.S.-made AeroVironment Switchblade drone. See photos here. The photo is just misplaced, it does not have any connection to the attack on the Kmeimim airbase. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 06:31, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
Petri, why do you think the photo is misplaced? I am not too clear. Searching for the image, it seems to appear in January 2018. Article description says that photos were made by 'Syrian opolchenie' (whatver that means) near Khmeimim; it gives 7 photos signposted in Arabic, with chip not visible, and this one. I was not very careful looking at it, and picked the one with the chip, as there is little useful info in other images. There is also a link in the article to photos from an earlier incident where a facility where Russians are preparing sapers (de-miners) was shown; those photos said to be taken by Rusvesna photo correspondent; it shows wooden frame and some parts, of little info to myself. The only photo with clear-cut chip is this one, out of the whole collection. There may be electronic/chip parts in earlier photos but I do not recognize those. It may be a sort of dark humor, a plant, a stock photo, or something really from Khmeimim, no clue (I am not in any contact with the source, but they got a photog on the ground). --Resup (talk) 07:10, 19 January 2018 (UTC) Other appearances of this photo: --Resup (talk) 07:41, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

- Some facebook of unknown provenance --telling us that the photo is from Khmeimim, FWIW
The pants, seems to be Syrian Army Uniforms, FWIW. Darker, to the right, possibly Russian/PMC (private military contractor)- Knee-pads?--Resup (talk) 08:13, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, it is most likely from somewhere in Syria. But the Switchblade only has a range of 10 km. It could not have been used as part of the attack. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 09:54, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
