- See also: a report by unnamed Russian aviation professionals, which includes a similar stringing image and in addition a rather careful analysis of some coordinates and density. Further, under an assumption that fragments are cubes of weight 2.4 to 3.7 grams (which is debatable) , they estimate warhead weight (М_бч in their presentation) as 40 kg. Note that 40 kg warhead was considered (Appendix B of Appendix Y of the final DSB report) but rejected by DSB.
Discussion
What's the source? Almaz said today that DSB moved point from 4 meters away (preliminary) to two meters away (final) and changed 'observed density' to fit accordingly. Around 24:55 on video and Table 20, page 142/279 of the final DSB report --Resup (talk) 00:42, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- If the DSB moved the point of detonation then they invalidated all the follow-up investigation. They would need to re-establish (or re-hoax) the position and direction of the missile. I have no idea where their new launch site would now be, but unlikely in Snezhnoe. (+ found source) -- Petri Krohn (talk) 01:18, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- Final DSB report is 'old', October 2015, and I guess it was updated online at some point in time. But they re-done the whole thing to make it (self) consistent. (Including, recounting density). --01:24, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
