Buying an island?
Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris has offered to buy a Mediterranean Island to allow refugees a temporary shelter until a long-term solution can be found. Sawiris is considering approaching the governments of Greece and Italy to possibly buy an island to help migrants fleeing from conflict zones, like Syria. ibtimes.co.uk, 3.9.2015
Finland
Finland celebrates 100 years of independence. A series commemorative 1 euro coins is issued. One of them features an image of Aylan Kurdi, with the text "Global justice" (Globaali oikeudenmukaisuus.) Not everyon is happy.
