Discussion
The hole looks very similar to a hole seen on the BBC video of the Aleppo "Playground Napalm Massacre" also in Urm al-Kubra.
- “Napalm bomb” school located - Fabrication in BBC Panorama 'Saving Syria’s Children, December 10, 2016
- See: "Damage to the interior of the bombed building (Video B)."
Note, that the rebar has been folded to the sides in a similar matter. Would rebar do this if it snaps under stress? -- Petri Krohn (talk) 06:15, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- For my part, I suspect this is a usual feature of concrete piercing - when the rebar gives, it would have to violent. The earlier hole indeed looks similar, as do some shown in connection with other alleged OFAB attacks. No expert, but I suspect this in itself doesn't mean much, except to suggest rebel false-flaggers perhaps had such weapons back then and now, or maybe in the earlier case it really was an air strike on a school used as a rebel base, for example. --Caustic Logic (talk) 08:58, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- It's not easy to answer with certainty, can be modeled but takes time (will post more if get a chance to try; with the whole thing fake for many reasons, not a strong motivation to do it). It has to be blown so violently that it not just snaps but starts to rotate at high speed; I am not sure it is that violent. Even if so, it will bounce off meeting wall support, not bend nicely around it as we see above. My expectation would be that it ends not far from vertically down in real situation. Not nicely bent around wall support. May post more if model suggest otherwise, -- but that will not happen very quickly--Resup (talk) 13:28, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
Also compare to this hole. I do not know which weapon was used here, but the Sanaa funeral hall attack can also be used for comparison. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 23:40, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Sry do not see the relevant bit on moonofalabama . In Sanaa, what I can see is clean hole (no midllebaring), LOTS of blast damage, and metal bend a bit and mostly down but not wrapped around, FWIW --Resup (talk) 05:14, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
